What kind of gathering is this? Classmates from Dadia school, dance clubs, Vlachs, \nprofessionals, peers, the generation of the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s?<\/p>

What kind of gathering is this? Classmates from Dadia school, dance clubs, Vlachs, \nprofessionals, peers, the generation of the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s? \nIt is a reunion related to the recent history of Dadia, its environmental history. Through the \nactions of the environmental organization WWF Greece and subsequently the Society for the \nProtection of Biodiversity of Thrace, 121 European volunteers have been hosted in Dadia since \n2003 as part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC)<\/a> formerly known as the European Voluntary \nService (EVS). So we are talking about a gathering of volunteers.<\/p>

Young people from Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Luxembourg, and Hungary \nhave been hosted in Dadia for periods ranging from six months to a year, contributing \nsignificantly to our activities, such as recording the impact of wind farms on birds and bats, \nmonitoring cinereous vulture movements, recording environmental parameters, ringing vultures, \norganizing events, and many other activities.<\/p>

From August 28 to 31, we are organizing the 6th<\/sup> reunion of former and current volunteers in \nDadia, together with former colleagues who have worked in the environmental organization. \nMost of the reunions have taken place in Dadia, and in each one we organize trips to destinations \nin Thrace to introduce new places or new initiatives that they did not have the opportunity to \nexperience during their stay in the area.<\/p>

We love reunions, we relive the past with nostalgia but also with a positive outlook for the future. \nWe are honored that after so many years, many former volunteers from different generations visit \nus, making us feel that their participation in the program meant something to them, left a mark, a \nfriendship, an important change in their lives.<\/p>

Against to urbanism, another story has been written in a village in Evros that was destined to \nbecome famous not only among visitors but also among young scientists, researchers, students, a \nsocial group with a love of nature and a willingness to volunteer.<\/p>
