The tree as a topic is always relevant, especially now that our region needs to turn people's attention to the protection of nature! And when you choose the mulberry tree as a theme in a festival in the Municipality of Soufli, success is guaranteed!

Trees have always been objects of worship since ancient times, giving life to our world and being a symbol of life through the years! Here, we have as our sacred tree, the mulberry tree, which gives itself to us completely, offering us its delicious fruit, its wonderful shade and the basic food for silkworms!

The 2nd^ο mulberry festival was completed leaving the best impressions! Every day there was an exhibition and market of local products as well as information stands with various activities for the young and adult visitors of the festival.

SPBT was there every day, with many educational activities related to the importance of the mulberry tree and the birds it hosts, as part of the mosaic of biodiversity of the region! Children created drawings and collages of the birds with crafts while learning various things about them. They also became familiar with identifying birds and their eggs through memory games. Finally, the adults were invited to share with us their thoughts about the future of the mulberry tree, capturing them on the paper leaves and placing them on our wooden tree. Reading these leaves, someone realizes the important role that the mulberry tree has played in shaping the local folklore and culture and how the continuity of the mulberry tree is interwoven with the region in the consciousness of the local people.
