Elzbieta Kret
Elzbieta Kret studied environmental protection and animal ecology in her native Poland. She has worked with WWF Greece since 2006, when she worked as an EVS (European Voluntary Service) volunteer in Dadia. From 2007-2009, she participated in the programme "Red Deer Ecology Research on Mount Parnis". From 2009 to 2022, she worked again in Dadia with the field programme of WWF Greece, where as a field researcher she monitored and implemented research and protection activities on the rare birds of prey in the area. A big part of her job is in dealing with threats, like the presence of poisoned baits that can lead to the disappearance of rare species. Together with her two "four-legged" colleagues, they formed the first anti-poison detection team in Greece. With her long-term experience in conservation, monitoring and research, her aim is to contribute to the protection of the rare species that live in the important ecosystems of Thrace. She is a resident of Dadia, in the municipality of Soufli.
